Selecting Classical Music

Classical music lovers can’t rely solely on the artist and album names in the list view. Many albums are compilations, and you’re often more interested in the composer than the performer. If you have classical music, a collection appears listing all of the composers in your library. Choose a composer to learn more about his life.

You can play everything you have by the composer, a single work, or an album that has a work by the composer or select a work to learn more about the piece.

There is also a collection that lists each work by name. That way, you can find the “Emperor” concerto even if you can’t remember who composed it. Select “Performances” to learn about each individual performance of the work in your library. You can see when and where the performance took place. Select the conductor or performer to read about his life, or choose one of his other performances. You can play an entire performance, or select a movement.
