Kaleidescape Promotes the Golden Age of Home Cinema at CEDIA Expo 2019

Hollywood Director, Barry Sonnenfeld, Actor Patrick Warburton, and Notable Industry Experts,
Including Sam Cavitt, Joel Silver, and Steve Haas, Join a Line-Up of Cinema Professionals to Educate Dealers on How to Deliver an Amazing Home Cinema Experience

DENVER, COLORADO, September 10th, 2019 – Kaleidescape (booth #2549) will promote the home cinema category at CEDIA Expo 2019 through its booth theater presentations, partnerships with other leading brands, and by hosting four educational panel discussions to help dealers give their clients the most amazing home cinema experience.

“Today’s projectors and screens can generate so much light that the color volume is far ahead of the average commercial cinema,” commented Joel Silver, founder Imaging Science Foundation. “Unless every component in the home theater is optimized to deliver the highest performance, this kind of capability is often wasted. We need integrators to understand how to utilize the best components to get the best results.”

“Audio is more than half the experience of home cinema and needs to be carefully configured to deliver the emotional impact that produces unique experiences that high-end home cinema clients expect,” said Steve Haas, CEO of SH Acoustics. “Luckily, we have content sources like Kaleidescape to provide us with the highest quality playback so that our clients can experience the full emotional essence of their movie entertainment.”

Kaleidescape is hosting four panels to promote the home cinema category with subject-matter experts ranging from a famous director and actor, home cinema designers, and the industry’s finest manufacturers and residential system integrators. The topics are diverse and are designed to raise awareness to consumers that there has never been a better time to invest in home cinema.

The four panels include:

  • “A Conversation About the Home Cinema Experience: from Set to Couch,” Thursday, September 12th at 2:00 p.m.: Award-winning director, Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black and Get Shorty) will be joined by actor and voice artist, Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld and Family Guy) for an inside look at the journey of the cinematic experience. Sonnenfeld and Warburton will discuss their experiences working on movies and shows, the current state of movie and TV production, and how they like to enjoy entertainment at home.
  • “Selling a Home Theater Experience: Understand the Importance of an End-to-End Solution,” Wednesday, September 11th at 2:00 p.m.: Eric Thies (DSI Luxury Technology) will be hosting a panel of industry-leading cinema designers and dealers including Donnie Boutwell (Media Systems), Nick DeClemente (Elevated Integration), Ed Gilmore (Gilmore’s Sound Advice), and Bill Hipp (Audio Command Systems) to discuss how they speak to prospective clients about new developments in home cinema. With a plethora of available A/V components on the market at widely ranging levels of quality and reliability, this discussion will focus on how dealers educate their clients about what is the best fit for their home cinema projects.
  • “When Good Enough Isn’t Good Enough: Selling High Performance in the Face of Streaming and Commoditization,” Wednesday, September 11th at 10:00 a.m.: Geoff Stedman (Kaleidescape) will be joined by Sam Cavitt (Paradise Theater), William Erb (luxury home theater customer), Tim Sinnaeve (Barco Residential), Katherine Spiller (Steinway Lyngdorf) and André Floyd (Kaleidescape) for a discussion on how all components of a home theater must work together to offer a unique experience to consumers. The discussion will cover the details of how these experts promote performance and luxury, often in the face of “good enough” objections. Attendees will learn how cinema designers and equipment manufacturers understand their customers’ wants and needs to drive the value of a true cinematic experience.
  • “Best Practices in Home Cinema Design and Implementation,” Friday, September 12th at 2:00 p.m.: Lisa Montgomery (home technology journalist) will be joined by a panel of home cinema design experts for an exploration of the best practices for turning a room into the ultimate home cinema, a place where the cinematic experience dazzles and amazes. Everything from video and audio to seating and acoustics will be examined to help ensure both the space and the equipment are considered together to deliver the experience clients desire.
