EASY TO CONFIGURE INTERACTIVE CONTROLLERS AVAILABLE FOR KALEIDESCAPE USERS
SUNNYVALE, CA – June 24, 2008 – Kaleidescape, Inc., the leader in entertainment servers, today announced support for the Philips™ Pronto TSU9600 and TSU9400 controllers, elegant handheld devices that offer rich interactive control of a Kaleidescape System. The Pronto™ controller is easy to install, and requires minimum programming and graphics development.
“Kaleidescape’s support of the Philips Pronto provides an exciting new option for controlling a Kaleidescape System,” said Michael Malcolm, founder, chairman and CEO, Kaleidescape, Inc. “It is no longer necessary to invest in an expensive whole-house control system to enjoy the full Kaleidescape Experience.”
“I am extremely impressed with the full-featured user interface that Kaleidescape has created for the Philips Pronto,” said Carey Poynter, Director of Merchandising, Magnolia Audio Video. “By enabling the Pronto to operate seamlessly with the Kaleidescape System, Magnolia Audio Video can now offer a simple and cost-effective control solution that will significantly increase the number of potential Kaleidescape customers.”
Features and Benefits
Rich Interactive Interface – Rich interactive control, previously available only with an expensive touch panel, is now available in the “palm of your hands.” The rotary wheel scrolls quickly through large collections of movies or music, and the virtual keyboard can be used to search for movies or music by name. As the user browses content stored on the System, the high resolution Pronto touchscreen displays movie and music details such as cover art, synopses, artist names and genres.
Easy Integration – Minimal programming and graphics design are needed to integrate the Pronto controller with a Kaleidescape System, making it easy for dealers to configure and install.
Control for Music-only Playback Zones – The Pronto controller is a complete solution for controlling a music-only zone without the aid of the onscreen display. Detailed music information is displayed directly on the Pronto touchscreen for browsing the entire music library by artist, album, genre or Collection.
Multi-room Control – Equipped with wireless network connectivity, the Pronto controller can control any Kaleidescape Player from anywhere in the house.
