The Kaleidescape Server is the heart of the Kaleidescape System. A single Kaleidescape Server can store up to 825 DVDs or 9,500 CDs. Multiple Servers can be clustered to form a single System that stores thousands of movies and albums as one single collection.
The Kaleidescape Server provides redundant storage for your collection using a RAID array of hot-swappable Disk Cartridges. This means that no movies or albums are lost if a disk fails, and a failed disk may be replaced without the need to power down the system. Our proprietary technology also allows you to add additional Disk Cartridges to a Server on-the-fly to increase storage for your movies and music. As your entertainment collection grows, your Kaleidescape System can be easily expanded to grow with it
The Kaleidescape Server can deliver movies and music simultaneously to zones throughout the home that are supported by a Kaleidescape Movie or Music Player. Once your movies and music are stored on your Kaleidescape Server, they can be enjoyed instantly in any Player-equipped room over a simple residential network.
