Dolby Vision Support on Kaleidescape Players

Kaleidescape players support different HDR formats depending on the model generation. The information below clarifies which players are capable of Dolby Vision playback. 

Strato and Strato C Players (Original Models) 

  • Do NOT support Dolby Vision
  • These models support HDR10
  • Dolby Vision content downloaded to systems will not appear on the Onscreen display (OSD) for these players.  

Strato V, Strato E, and Strato M Players (Current Generation) 

  • Fully support Dolby Vision, in addition to HDR10. 
  • Dolby Vision titles will automatically play in Dolby Vision when connected to a compatible display and AVR. 
  • If the display does not support Dolby Vision, playback of Dolby Vision content will automatically be output in HDR10. 

Additional Notes 

  • Dolby Vision support is determined by the player hardware. Earlier Strato/Strato C models cannot be upgraded to add Dolby Vision.  
  • Ensure all HDMI devices in the signal path (display, AVR, HDMI switchers, etc.) are Dolby Vision capable to receive Dolby Vision output.  
  • Title availability: If a movie is offered in Dolby Vision in the Kaleidescape Movie store, it will be playable only on supported players
  • Certified  Ultra High-Speed HDMI cables are recommended.
