Whenever a Strato system, a Premiere system, or Cinema One (2nd generation) are installed on the same network, more than one Kaleidescape System exists by default. This is because systems from different product families cannot be linked.
It is possible however, to set up multiple Strato systems, multiple Premiere systems, or multiple Cinema One systems on the same network. For example, this is useful when loading a customer system on the office network where a demo system is installed.
When a server or player/server is removed from an existing system, it becomes deactivated causing any content downloaded from the Kaleidescape Movie Store to lose playback authorization. When activating the server or player/server as a new system, use the same store account, or the downloaded titles will not regain playback authorization.
Strato Systems
When a new Strato or Alto player is added to the network where a Strato system is already installed, the new player can be added to the existing system during the initial guided setup, or this step can be ignored when wanting to set up the player as a new system. When the player is the first component in a new system, other Strato components can be added using instructions in the following article. How are new components added to an existing Kaleidescape System?
A component can be removed from a Strato system from the browser interface. The browser interface must be accessed from a device installed on the same local network as the Strato system.
1. In the address bar of a web browser enter:
Premiere Systems
When more than one Kaleidescape system is detected on the network, the View another system link appears at the top of any browser interface page. When a new Premiere server is added to the network where an existing Premiere system resides, the new server will not automatically be added to the existing system. The new server can be removed from the system from the browser interface. The browser interface must be accessed from a device connected to the same local network as the Premiere system.
To add other Premiere components to the new server, make sure they are powered on and connected to the network, and then use instructions in the following article. How are new components added to an existing Kaleidescape System?
After all components are added, two Premiere systems are set up on the same network. To access the browser interface for a specific system, enter the IP address of the server.
Cinema One
On Cinema One (2nd generation), a second player can be added in the on-screen user interface.
When more than one player is detected on the network, the Link Players selection on the Settings page is active. When a new player is first installed, the initial guided setup provides the opportunity to link the new player to an existing Cinema One. If this step is ignored or skipped, then two Cinema One systems exist on the network. If the player was linked during the initial setup, or it needs to be removed, follow the steps below.
1. Press the Menu button on the Kaleidescape remote, or press Menu on the Remote Control page of the Kaleidescape App for iPad, or press the Kaleidescape logo in the top left corner of a touch panel using a Kaleidescape control template. When complete, more than one Cinema One system exists on the same network. To access the browser interface for a specific system, enter the IP address of the player.
