When Kaleidescape components are transferred from one owner to another, an email must be sent to support@kaleidescape.com with the serial number(s) of the component(s) that are being transferred along with the contact information for the new owner to allow our records to be properly updated. The original owner must deactivate the Kaleidescape component before selling it to prevent problems with it or any components that are not being transferred. Note: a player without storage or a disc vault does not need to be deactivated.
Any imported DVD or CD content not owned by the new owner must be deleted per the Kaleidescape Service & License Agreement or the physical discs that were imported onto the server must also be given to the new owner.
Content downloaded from Kaleidescape is non-transferable. When the registration/activation is changed to a new owner, any existing downloads on the Kaleidescape component become unauthorized and cannot be played. The new owner can repurchase ownership rights to one or more of those titles and they would not have to be re-downloaded. However, any titles which are not purchased by the new owner will continue to take up local storage space and be unplayable until they are deleted.
