What do I do if a Kaleidescape component is too hot?
Avoid overheating Kaleidescape components to prevent damage. If a component is too hot:
1. Check the front air intake and clean it if it is obstructed. Refer to Server Cleaning Procedures (www.kaleidescape.com/go/server-cleaning) and Player Cleaning Procedures (www.kaleidescape.com/go/player-cleaning). 2. Maintain 1 in. (2.5 cm) clearance between rack or other enclosure doors and the front of the chassis.
3. Maintain 2 in. (5 cm) clearance at the back of all Kaleidescape components.
4. Verify that enough cool air can flow in to the component enclosure or rack space.
5. Verify that hot air can exhaust out of the component enclosure or rack space. See Environmental Specifications for Kaleidescape Components (www.kaleidescape.com/go/environmental-specs) for operating temperature range, heat dissipation, and recommended airflow. See also Airflow in Equipment Racks (www.kaleidescape.com/go/airflow) for more information.
For additional information, contact support or your Kaleidescape Dealer. Be prepared to supply the serial number of your Kaleidescape component.
