WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Kaleidescape produces its own set of Web Services to provide essential services to our rapidly expanding customer base. Kaleidescape systems deployed around the world communicate with us every couple of minutes to access these services. New movie database updates, music database updates, and software releases are produced and constantly made available to customers. All Kaleidescape Systems record details about their own state and report this information to our headquarters. This data is dynamically analyzed to send out instant reports to people needing to understand our install base. All aspects of our Web Services are designed to absorb our explosive scalability needs while placing a critical emphasis on security.

Kaleidescape is seeking fast-learning, detail-oriented engineers to work on all aspects of our Web Services. Projects include designing and implementing new services, ensuring scalability of existing services, and writing custom web applications to manage our install base and report conditions at customer sites.

Candidates should have a related University degree or equivalent, excellent written and oral communication skills, extensive programming experience, and a strong desire to create high quality services. Possessing any of the following is definitely helpful:

  • Strong Java development experience
  • Scripting languages
  • Java/J2EE, Tomcat, SQL, CGI, Perl development tools
  • Web application development using HTML/CSS/AJAX/JavaScript/Velocity
  • Experience with secure, high-performance services running on high-load servers
  • Database design and administration
  • Understanding of server security issues
