Control Systems Infrared Remotes
Each M-Class player and Cinema One includes a Kaleidescape Remote for control of the player right out of the box. The Cinema One also includes a Child Remote which activates the simplified child user interface.
In addition, almost any other IR remote can be used with a Kaleidescape player. IR commands provided by Kaleidescape can be used to control a Kaleidescape movie zone connected to a display device. The amount of control depends on the type and capabilities of the remote.
Kaleidescape Remote
The Kaleidescape Remote can be used to control a Kaleidescape player. It features one-button access to key commands such as Intermission, Shuffle and Now Playing, and includes programmable volume and mute buttons.
The Kaleidescape Remote is included with each M-Class player and Cinema One. It is also available separately for purchase.
Kaleidescape Child Remote
When the Child Remote is used, the onscreen user interface automatically switches to the simplified child user interface, eliminating all text-based menus in favor of pure graphical navigation of movie covers.
Use the pre-programmed Kaleidescape Child Remote or any programmable controller to send child user interface commands. Refer to Kaleidescape System IR Hex Codes or the Kaleidescape System Control Protocol Reference Manual.
The Child Remote is included with each Cinema One. It is also available separately for purchase.
Other Remote Controls
Other remotes generally fall into three broad categories: PC Programmable, Learning, and Pre-programmed.
These remotes are generally more sophisticated models, with software provided by the manufacturer to program the remote through a computer. Several of these programs allow IR codes in hex format to be imported. The following document contains all the IR codes available from Kaleidescape in hex format, ready to be copy and pasted into any program that supports it.

Occasionally, a remote configuration program can import IR codes from the Pronto CCF file format. The following file contains all the IR codes available from Kaleidescape in this format.
