Terra Prime® movie servers store Kaleidescape movies, TV series, and concerts. Kaleidescape movies are downloaded asynchronously and then played back from local storage. This enables playback with full fidelity, irrespective of internet connectivity.
Kaleidescape movie files are typically ten times larger than streamer movies, retaining lossless audio and near lossless video fidelity from studio masters. By contrast, streaming movie files are heavily compressed to create small movie files that can be streamed over the internet.
Kaleidescape movies are played back on Strato movie players. The Strato V movie player can store about ten downloaded 4K movies, while Strato E and Strato M store roughly six. For greater movie storage capacity and immediate playback of more movies, you can group Strato V, E, or M with up to four Terra Prime movie servers. When Strato V, E, or M is grouped with a Terra Prime movie server, its internal storage is disabled (in favor of more scalable server storage), and the full Kaleidescape user experience is enabled, including the list view and iconic cover shuffle view, which look and work better with larger movie libraries.
